NeuralDeck — 4-Deck AI DJ Studio

Mix in the browser. AI picks the next track. Tips + merch land in your bank.

Live app: https://ai-beat-sync.preview.emergentagent.com Pricing: CA$4.99/mo · 7-day free trial · Cancel anytime

Quick start (60 seconds)

  1. Sign up on the landing page. You get 7 days of full PRO features, no card needed.
  2. Land on /studio — 4 decks (A/B/C/D) in a 2×2 grid with the mixer in the middle.
  3. Load a track into any deck:
    • Drag & drop an MP3/WAV from your desktop, or
    • Pick from the demo library (bottom-left panel), or
    • Connect Spotify and browse your saved tracks, or
    • Search YouTube for anything by title/artist.
  4. Hit PLAY on the deck. Adjust volume, EQ (low/mid/high), pitch, or the crossfader.
  5. Load a second track on another deck. Now you're mixing.

Serato + Rekordbox + Traktor users — bring your crates

Coming from another DJ tool? NeuralDeck reads all three major library formats in one click — hot cues included where the source app stored them:

From Serato:

  1. In Serato, right-click any crate → Export → Playlist as .m3u8
  2. In NeuralDeck Studio → Library tab → tap Import Serato .m3u8 / Rekordbox .xml / Traktor .nml
  3. Your full tracklist appears with title / artist / BPM / key metadata preserved

From Rekordbox:

  1. In Rekordbox, File → Export Collection in xml format
  2. Same import button as above — one XML brings in every playlist at once
  3. Bonus: Rekordbox POSITION_MARKs come across as hot cues on each track — no re-cueing needed

From Traktor Pro:

  1. Your library is already saved at ~/Documents/Native Instruments/Traktor <version>/collection.nml on macOS (or Documents\Native Instruments\Traktor <version>\collection.nml on Windows)
  2. Same import button — every Traktor playlist / folder shows up as its own crate, nested paths preserved (e.g. House / Peak Time)
  3. Bonus: Traktor CUE_V2 markers with HOTCUE ≥ 0 come across as hot cues, and Traktor's OpenKey values (0..23) auto-convert to standard Camelot notation so keys read the same as your Serato/Rekordbox tracks

Then, on any imported crate, tap Match audio → pick the actual audio files from disk → NeuralDeck joins them by filename. Matched tracks land in your Local library, ready to drag onto any deck. Serato MP3s — hot cues stored inside the audio file's ID3v2 GEOB tag (Serato Markers2) are automatically read and attached to each track during the Match Audio step. Rekordbox + Traktor hot cues come across in the XML/NML directly. All three ecosystems land with the same experience.

Ableton Link — live tempo sync with Serato / Traktor / Rekordbox / Ableton Live

NeuralDeck can lock its BPM to whatever your desktop DJ software is playing, in real time. The trick: a tiny background companion app called the NeuralDeck Bridge that joins the Ableton Link session on your LAN and streams the tempo to your browser tab.

Install (60 seconds)

  1. Head to /download and grab the .dmg (macOS Apple Silicon + Intel) or .exe (Windows 10/11 x64)
  2. Install like any regular app. On first run the OS will ask for permission to accept incoming network connections — say yes; Link only ever talks over your local Wi-Fi
  3. The bridge runs headless in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows) as a small ND badge

Use it

  1. Open any Link-enabled DJ app: Serato DJ Pro 3.x, Traktor Pro 3/4, Rekordbox 6/7, Ableton Live 11/12, Bitwig, VirtualDJ 2024, Logic Pro 11 — enable Ableton Link in that app's preferences
  2. Open the NeuralDeck Studio in your browser
  3. In the studio header the Link · off pill turns green with peer count + session BPM the moment the bridge sees your other software
  4. Tap Follow BPM — Deck A's pitch fader now tracks the session tempo in real time (Pioneer-style ±8 % range)

It doesn't phone home

  • All traffic is local — the bridge speaks Ableton Link over UDP multicast on your LAN and only serves WebSocket to your own browser tab on localhost:17573
  • The browser sees { session_bpm, beat_phase, peers_count, playing } at 60 Hz. **No audio, no personal data, no track metadata** — just tempo
  • Origin-locked: the bridge WebSocket rejects any origin that isn't your local Studio or katwirelabs-neuraldeck.com. Random tabs on the LAN can't spy on your tempo
  • Free, MIT-licensed, source at github.com/katwirelabs/neuraldeck-bridge

AI Mixing — the killer feature

NeuralDeck ships two AI modes. Both use the Emergent LLM key on the backend (Claude Sonnet + OpenAI); nothing you have to configure.

1. Neural Mix — one-tap harmonic transition

  • Play a track on Deck A and a different track on Deck B (both PLAY lit).
  • Tap the NEURAL MIX button in the central mixer.
  • The app compares BPM + Camelot key across the two decks, computes the exact pitch adjust needed to beatmatch, and shows a short coaching line ("Ride the low EQ out on A while opening the highs on B on the drop").
  • The pitch adjust is applied automatically; the crossfade is your call.

2. AI Recommender — "what should I play next?"

  • Open the AI PICK tab in the track library (right panel, third tab).
  • Pick a vibe: energetic, chill, peak-hour, or wind-down.
  • Tap RECOMMEND.
  • You get the top 5 harmonically compatible tracks from your library scored 0–100 for BPM + key match, plus a 2-sentence explanation of why the top pick will slide in cleanly.
  • Tap any recommendation to load it straight into an empty deck.

One-tap SYNC (no AI needed)

  • Load two tracks. Play one.
  • On the other deck, tap SYNC. Its pitch is instantly matched to the playing deck's BPM. Under 0.01% precision.

Pioneer DJ + Technics — full MIDI guide

Any controller from 2006 onward that can speak MIDI works with NeuralDeck: all Pioneer DDJs (SB, 400, FLX4, FLX10, 1000, REV5/7…), Pioneer CDJs and XDJs flipped into MIDI mode, and Technics SL-1200MK7 / SL-1210MK7 (2019+ — the only Technics turntables with USB-MIDI). Coverage list at the bottom of this section.

Step-by-step

  1. Plug in the controller via USB to the same laptop running NeuralDeck.
  2. Flip to MIDI mode if you're on a CDJ or XDJ — DDJs already default to MIDI. See per-model instructions below.
  3. Open the app → /settings → scroll to the **// PIONEER DJ + MIDI HARDWARE** card.
  4. Tap Enable MIDI. The browser will show a permission prompt — click Allow (Chrome / Edge / Opera only; Firefox and Safari haven't shipped Web MIDI yet).
  5. Your device shows up in the Detected devices list. If NeuralDeck recognises the name, the correct preset auto-applies and you'll see a green Active preset: … label.
  6. Head back to /studio. Play / cue / tempo / EQ / volume / crossfader / hot cues 1–4 / loop in-out are all wired.
  7. Anything unmapped? Back on Settings, use MIDI Learn:
    • Pick the deck (A/B/C/D or Global for the crossfader)
    • Pick the action (Sync, Load, Hot Cue 5–8, Loop Halve/Double, etc.)
    • Tap Start Learn
    • Physically touch the button/knob on the hardware — it binds instantly.
  8. Custom bindings are saved to your browser (localStorage). Clear them from the same card if you want to reset.

How to enable MIDI mode on Pioneer gear

Family How to flip to MIDI
DDJ (all) — SB/SB2/SB3, 200, 400, 800, 1000, FLX4, FLX6, FLX10, REV1/5/7, SR/SR2, SX/SX2/SX3, RB, RX, RZ, T1, S1, WeGO 1–4 Already MIDI. Just plug in — no toggle needed.
XDJ-1000 / XDJ-1000MK2 Hold BROWSE while powering on. Screen shows "MIDI".
XDJ-RR / XDJ-RX / RX2 / RX3 Settings → UTILITY → MIDI CONTROL → ON, then set MIDI channel per deck.
XDJ-R1 Hold BACK + LOAD-A on boot until the "MIDI" indicator lights up.
XDJ-XZ Settings → General → MIDI Controller mode = ON. Note: XZ has an HID mode used by rekordbox — MIDI is the fallback.
CDJ-350 Hold PLAY/PAUSE + CUE on boot. Track display shows "MIDI Control".
CDJ-400 Hold TIME MODE + CUE on boot.
CDJ-800MK2 / CDJ-850 UTILITY menu → MIDI CH → ON.
CDJ-900 / 900NXS / 900NXS2 MENU → UTILITY → MIDI CH → assign a channel (1–16).
CDJ-2000 / 2000NXS / 2000NXS2 MENU → UTILITY → MIDI CH → ON. Feeds jog + hot cue + play/cue over MIDI while USB media still plays.
CDJ-3000 MENU → SHORTCUT → MIDI. Note: many CDJ-3000 workflows use HID via rekordbox instead — that path needs a native driver.

What's NOT supported in the browser

  • Pioneer HID mode (proprietary — most CDJ-2000/3000 setups use this by default via rekordbox) — needs a native driver we can't ship as a web app.
  • Pro DJ Link (Ethernet sync between multiple CDJs) — same reason.
  • USB audio return from the controller sound card — Web Audio can't grab an ASIO/CoreAudio device. Use your laptop's own audio out through the mixer's line-in.

Full compatibility list (auto-detected presets)

DDJ controllers (2010→2025): DDJ-200 · DDJ-400 · DDJ-800 · DDJ-1000 · DDJ-FLX4 · DDJ-FLX6 · DDJ-FLX10 · DDJ-REV1 · DDJ-REV5 · DDJ-REV7 · DDJ-SB · DDJ-SB2 · DDJ-SB3 · DDJ-SR · DDJ-SR2 · DDJ-SX · DDJ-SX2 · DDJ-SX3 · DDJ-RB · DDJ-RX · DDJ-RZ · DDJ-T1 · DDJ-S1 · DDJ-WeGO · WeGO2 · WeGO3 · WeGO4

XDJ (MIDI mode): XDJ-R1 · XDJ-RR · XDJ-RX · XDJ-RX2 · XDJ-RX3 · XDJ-XZ · XDJ-1000 · XDJ-1000MK2

CDJ (MIDI mode): CDJ-350 · CDJ-400 · CDJ-800MK2 · CDJ-850 · CDJ-900 · CDJ-900NXS · CDJ-900NXS2 · CDJ-2000 · CDJ-2000NXS · CDJ-2000NXS2 · CDJ-3000

Technics (turntables with USB-MIDI): SL-1200MK7 · SL-1210MK7 (2019+). For a two-turntable setup, plug both in and select the "→ Deck B" preset for the second unit. Jog wheel = touch top platter to scrub, spin outer ring to nudge.

❌ NOT MIDI-capable (need DVS interface): Classic Technics SL-1200MK2/MK3/MK5, SL-1210MK2/MK5, SL-1200G/GR/GAE/GR2, SL-1500C, SP-10R. These are pure analog turntables — pair them with a Rane Twelve, Denon VL12, or a Serato timecode + audio interface.

Any other MIDI controller (Traktor, Numark, Reloop, Denon) also works — you just won't get an auto-preset, so run through MIDI Learn once and every deck action gets bound to whatever hardware you're on.
